Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships Officer (Identified) - Central Queensland Region


School and Regional Operations and Performance Division

The Central Queensland Region Partnerships and Programs team is seeking a motivated Indigenous Partnerships and Pathways Officer (IPPO) to support culturally responsive and enriched learning outcomes for all children and students.

In this role, the IPPO will work collaboratively with regional teams and school staff to strengthen the embedding of First Nations perspectives, outcomes and pathways across education, with a focus on achievement, belonging and engagement.

The position supports the delivery of the Department of Education's strategy Brighter Futures and contributes to improved outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

The role requires regular travel to rural and remote schools across the Central Queensland Region.

About the Role

As the Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships Officer (Identified) you will:

  • Support disengaged or students at risk of disengagement to re-engage with school or an eligible option.
  • Develop partnerships with community, government and non-government agencies, and develop cultural awareness in schools, that will combine to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships Officer (Identified), reports to the Manager - First Nations Education Partnerships and Programs
