Biosecurity Queensland plays a vital role in securing the state's agricultural prosperity and preserving and protecting the health of our environment and economy. We are dedicated to safeguarding both human and animal health by preventing and mitigating plant and animal pests and diseases. We work tirelessly to uphold a high level of animal welfare standards and maintain access to interstate markets, critical for Queensland's thriving primary industries. Biosecurity Queensland monitors and regulates the application of agricultural and veterinary chemicals, ensuring they are used safely and in compliance with legislation. With a commitment to developing capabilities and preparedness, we are at the forefront of protecting Queensland against biosecurity risks.
Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.
As an Executive Services Officer, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the General Manager to ensure operational delivery is robust and efficient and business improvements are delivered.
- Effectively plan, prioritise work, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and work autonomously using a high level of initiative and self-motivation to assist in the effective management of incoming requests, responding to outstanding queries and requests for information and resolving issues.
- Support a positive culture within the office utilising strong interpersonal communication to enable delivery of effective and timely administrative services.
You will have a keen eye for detail, great time management and effective problem-skilling skills. More than anything, you will have a positive attitude and make a great contribution to our close-knit and connected team.
