Senior Procurement Officer

Senior Procurement Officers (AO5) provide a high level of advice, support and assistance to a range of departmental staff and suppliers on procurement matters in accordance with all relevant procurement policies and procedures with responsibility for the successful management of moderately complex contracts and procurement activities. Procurement Services delivers a range of services including development of agency procurement procedures, guides, forms and templates, procurement planning and assistance, sourcing and acquisition strategies, tender management, agency managed supply arrangements, assistance with professional contractor and consultancy engagements, assistance with contract negotiation and performance management, assistance with end-of-life processes (including disposals), procurement of minor and capital works, procurement category management, procurement profiling.

This position requires:
• Demonstrated knowledge and competency to advise and manage end to end procurement processes for high risk/complex activity including tendering and contract management.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Queensland Government Procurement Framework and Contract Management Framework (or equivalent)
• Demonstrated understanding of complex procurement issues and initiatives.
• Successful contribution to team performance and relationships.
• Ability to make recommendations based on analysis, experience and judgement and actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated high level of competence in communicating, consulting and negotiating with clients and stakeholders, developing networks, and influencing others.
• Demonstrated ability to time manage and balance competing priorities to deliver successful outcomes. Demonstrate how you can support our commitment to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
