About the Role 
Key responsibilities include: 
•    Develop and oversee the department's strategy function with a future-focused approach. 
•    Provide strategic advice to the Director-General and Executive Leadership Team on key issues impacting portfolio priorities and stakeholder engagement.
•    Lead innovative media and communication strategies, ensuring alignment with government objectives and commitments. 
•    Manage issues and reputational risks, including crisis communication obligations. 
•    Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment that values diversity and inclusivity. 

The ideal candidate 
We are seeking an approachable and inspiring senior leader who has strengths in: 
•    Strategic thinking, analysis, and problem-solving to make insightful decisions. 
•    Driving accountability and delivering measurable outcomes. 
•    Building and managing relationships across government and with stakeholders. 
•    Effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement. 
•    Leadership that inspires clarity, engagement, and a shared sense of purpose.
