Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is seeking an accomplished professional to join our Corporate Governance and Risk Group as Principal Adviser, Governance (AO7). This pivotal role offers the opportunity to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of Queensland communities by shaping and strengthening governance practices within a dynamic public sector environment.

About the Role
As Principal Adviser, Governance, you will play a key role in ensuring QCS meets all governance and reporting obligations. You will develop and implement robust governance frameworks and systems, coordinate regulatory and governance reporting, and provide effective advice and support to QCS Committees. This role is integral to fostering a culture of collaboration, evidence-based decision making, innovation, and performance orientation.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement effective governance frameworks, policies, and strategies.
- Provide expert advice and support on governance matters across the organisation.
- Coordinate and deliver regulatory and governance reporting.
- Support and advise governance committees.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve governance systems and processes.
- Prepare complex reports and briefings for senior audiences.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
