About the role
The Clinical Nurse provides advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and coordination of nursing care for patients with surgical and orthopaedic conditions, contributing to safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care within an interprofessional model. The role supports the overall functioning of the ward through clinical leadership, mentoring of junior staff, and effective decision‑making in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager or other senior nursing leadership
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide advanced nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to deliver high‑standard, patient‑centred care.
- Respond effectively to sudden changes in patient condition and implement appropriate clinical interventions.
- Provide education to patients, families and carers to support understanding and safe transition of care.
- Act as shift coordinator and team leader as required, supporting safe and efficient ward operations.
- Support performance and development planning for self and others.
