We're excited to welcome a Psychologist or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker – Senior (Allied Health Practitioner) to our Emergency Department team.

The Emergency Department Mental Health team at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Nambour General Hospital delivers 24-hour access to specialist mental health care. The HP4 clinician undertakes comprehensive intake assessments, formulates clinical recommendations, and provides expert consultation to Emergency Department staff regarding interventions and management strategies for mental health presentations. Additional responsibilities include delivering education and mentoring to ED staff to build capability and confidence in managing mental health consumers.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Deliver independent high-level Psychology or Occupational Therapy or Social work clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.
- Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Psychology or Occupational Therapy or Social work practitioners and students as delegated.
- Adhere to relevant expectations outlined in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Allied Health Governance Framework documents and Business Rules to ensure that best patient outcomes are achieved in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner.
Remuneration value up to $149 076 p.a, comprising salary rates $64.64 - $69.55 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (part time position available, 72 hrs p.f.).
