This role provides clinical IT support to Cardiac Catheter Laboratories (CCL) and Echocardiography Clinics across Queensland Health. Operationally, this role reports directly to the Clinical Informatics Consultant CVIS, Queensland Imaging Informatics Support Unit, Digital Health Branch, eHealth Queensland. Professionally, this role reports to the Director Clinical Informatics (Nursing) Office of the Chief Clinical Information Officer (OCCIO).

What you'll do  

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the eHealth Queensland values shown above in this role description:

  • Support prioritisation of operational, enhancement, and clinical demand for digital healthcare change, including workload allocation and assistance with queue management activities.
  • Support (and at times lead) clinical incident response to statewide Major Information and Communication Technology (ICT) incidents, by providing clinical impact assessments, applying clinical context and risk analysis to major ICT, clinical system incidents.
  • Collaborate with QIISU and OCCIOs Directors, HHS, and technical partners develop incident communiques, develop safe clinical workarounds, and develop documentation required to support incident management/response
  • Provide Echocardiography workflow subject matter expertise in relation to the maintenance/enhancement/innovation of digital healthcare solutions, with comprehensive information transfer relating to design capabilities and system functionality.
  • Collaborate with others in the provision of policy advice on issues relating to professional and clinical practice, education and research.  
  • Work collaboratively with statewide clinical networks, working groups, and data and analytic teams to influence clinical workflows that improve clinical care and complement accurate collation of data for reporting and improvement purposes. 
  • Use evidence -based clinical practice to facilitate positive outcomes for recipients of healthcare services. 

About you  

We are searching for someone who has: 

  • Demonstrated advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in one or more clinical informatics specialities.
  • Experience in advanced problem-solving and expert clinical judgement in relation to clinical informatics.  
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and ability to negotiate change.
  • Ability to lead digital quality service improvement initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes within digital Hospital and Health Services. 
  • Uses evidence-based practice to apply knowledge and skills that support state wide Hospital and Health Services to manage complex clinical caseloads using digital applications.
  • Proven high-level oral and written communication skills and a high-level ability to apply contemporary project leadership principles to develop and maintain effective relationships within both the OCCIO team and with external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in the use of computers and software packages such as O365.
