An exciting opportunity exists for a Mental Health Forensic Liaison Officer to join the Recovery and Partnerships Mental Health and Specialised Services team. The Forensic Liaison Officer reports operationally to the Program Manager Recovery and Partnerships Team, MHSS and professionally to the Nursing Service Director.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice and contribute to HHS mental health staff on risk assessment and risk management strategies.
  • Liaise with the broader mental health services including inpatient units, community mental health services, Court Liaison Service, Prison Mental Health Service, the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch, key criminal justice agencies including Queensland Corrective Services, Queensland Police Service, other government and non-government organisations to enhance communication, networking and interfaces between these agencies with particular focus on navigating consumers to transition between the services.
  • Participation in the review of consumers from the health service who are in high or medium secure inpatient services and provide input into order conditions and limited community treatment, discharge and transition planning.
  • Participation in the assessments and regularly review the treatment and care, recovery and risk management plans of consumers on FO, TSO and other higher risk consumers when required including coordinating the transfer of these consumers to and from Sunshine Coast.

Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $169 138 p.a., comprising salary rates: $68.86 - $74.76 p.h. (Nurse Grade 7) and Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $157 359 p.a., comprising salary rates: $64.64 - $69.55 p.h. (Heath Practitioner 4) employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Fixed term temporary part position, 60.8 hrs p.f. for 6 months with possibility of extension).
