As our Planning Officer, Planning and Technical Services, you will be responsible for the delivery of planning outcomes to manage State-owned forest products.
This role will contribute to the development of the business through planning efficiencies to grow capability to deliver an effective timber sales program and satisfy all relevant natural resource management, environmental, cultural heritage, land management, planning and other legislative and policy requirements.

As our Planning Officer, Planning and Technical Services, you will be responsible for preparation and coordination of operational plans for native timber and forest harvesting activities, and/or tenure conversion applications, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, standards and procedures.
The role will undertake research, collect and analyse operational, spatial and commercial forest data and prepare reports, papers, briefs and correspondence to support effective decision-making.
You will support the Supervisor/Manager to coordinate team resourcing and ensure the effective delivery of service and consultation with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, industry, and local authorities.
The successful applicant will a contribute to the development, implementation and review of local procedures, systems and work practices and provide information and advice to colleagues, stakeholders, and clients on planning and operational matters.
You will provide technical advice and training for the successful adoption of new systems, policies and procedures and assist in the planning, preparation and management of operational activities.
The role will contribute to the monitoring and audit function for forest harvesting operations and provide analyses of spatial information to enhance operations and business objectives.
