About the Role

As the Canteen Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school canteen, providing high-quality, nutritious food options for students and staff. Reporting to the Principal through the Business Manager, you will lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the daily operations of the school canteen, including food preparation and counter services.
  • Managing stock requirements, placing orders, and conducting regular stocktakes.
  • Maintaining accurate records for canteen and catering operations, including financial documentation.
  • Supervising and training canteen staff and volunteers to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards in food storage, handling, and equipment maintenance.

This role is ideal for an organised and motivated individual with a passion for providing quality food services and leading a team in a school environment.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Experience in food preparation and handling, with a focus on hygiene and safety.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including stock management and record-keeping.
  • Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and train staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices in a food service environment.
