Ensuring continuity of technical knowledge within QPS enables the department to provide continuous technical solutions in maintaining a workforce capable of implementing complex technical enhancements to frontline operational communication systems enabling QAS and QFES to provide reliable response to the public.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Work under general direction to provide administrative support to communications project teams; including Travel, Finance Systems and HR activities.
- Assist in the preparation of program of works budgets and maintain project related expenditures, financial records and reports.
- Undertake procurement activities in relation to technical specifications and applications of electronic, radio and communication products and associated assets.
- Assist with the preparation of project progress/highlight reports and journals to ensure that projects are managed within defined time, cost and specification restraints.
- Provide assistance, advice and support for purchasing activities within the Section, including negotiating with technical staff and external suppliers to ensure that customer requirements are met, costs are controlled, and organisational policy and technical standards are achieved.
- Coordinate expenditure records in relation to project costings and assist financial officers in the capitalisation of project costs.
- Assist in the organisation of Project Control Meetings, including the compilation and distribution of agendas and comprehensive minute taking.
