Access Assistant (Identified Australian First Nations)

In this role you will contribute to the success of a vibrant and dynamic network of more than 320 public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres.
You will be part of our Public Library Collection team based at Cannon Hill.
This position participates in the delivery, maintenance, and storage of physical collections which support the information, recreation, literacy and cultural needs of local communities throughout Queensland.
This is an active, hands-on role in a small team and is well suited to someone who enjoys physical work.
The position involves frequent manual handling, including lifting and packing books for dispatch to libraries across Queensland.

In this role you will undertake a variety of tasks such maintenance and shelving books and other library collection items.
You will participate in the circulation, delivery, and despatch of collections to and from public libraries. This includes unpacking and packing items for delivery, moving and lifting of materials, attending to the loading dock and operating small to medium sized pedestrian operated forklifts and pallet jacks.
