We are seeking an experienced teacher with a passion for growing and developing ITD teachers for the Senior Education Officer - Mentor (ITD) role. The successful candidate will work closely with Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) Permission to Teach teachers (PTTs), teachers, and other educational professionals to ensure ITD PTTs are well
supported.
In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of support mechanisms, providing guidance and mentoring to ITD PTTs and supporting supervising teachers and school leaders.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.40FTE), 29 hours per fortnight.

Your Role
As Senior Education Officer - Mentor (ITD), your responsibility will be to:
- Lead the design and delivery of mentoring strategies to support Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) Permission to Teach Teachers (PTTs) while they complete their undergraduate studies.
- Mentor and support ITD PTTs to succeed in their roles.
- Support and advise schools in supervising and mentoring ITD PTTs.
- Provide strategic advice on induction, mentoring and professional development resources relevant to ITD teaching in state secondary schools.
- Identify and respond to ITD PTTs at risk, in collaboration with regional and school teams.
- Provide expert advice through consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You will have experience in education and mentoring within ITD, strong organisational and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for ITD education with a strong safety focus dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for the ITD PTTs.
Additional Information
- Regular engagement with ITD PTTs and schools, both face-to-face and virtually.
- Regular travel will be required as part of this role, and travel expenses (beyond the normal commute to work) will be covered by the Region. Travel arrangements will be made in accordance with the Domestic Travel Procedure (https://ppr.qed.qld.gov.au/attachment/domestic-travel-procedure.pdf). Travel may include air travel, use of a government vehicle (where available) and/or use of private vehicle, public transport or taxi.
