About the role
The Mental Health Hospital in the Home Unit operates a seven day within the hours of 0630 to 2300. The Mental Health Hospital the Home provides specialised mental health care to consumer in their home environment. The clinical nurse will be a mental health specialist providing treatment support, assessment, advocacy and education to the consumer and their families/carers, with ongoing reports to treating team regarding mental state and risk.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in acute mental health inpatient service nursing, delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors and maintain a positive workplace culture through well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrates a strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in the multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement in work practices and outcomes and contribute to the continued improvement of policies and procedures.
- Ability to prioritise clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organisation of complex caseloads with proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
