An exciting backfill opportunity exists as an Asset Officer within the Finance Team!

The Asset Officer plays a key role in supporting CQ Health’s Financial Accounting team by managing asset data and ensuring accurate recording in the Asset Register. You will coordinate annual stock-takes, support the Health Equipment Technology Replacement Program, and ensure compliance with policies for asset procurement, disposal, and retirement. The officer performs monthly reconciliations, assists in developing the District’s Asset Strategic Plan, and acts as the primary point of contact for asset management issues while upholding workplace safety, ethical standards, and HR policies.

About us:

The Asset Accounting team is part of the Financial Accounting team within the Finance Unit and is responsible for the financial accounting management and coordination of health assets within the CQ (Central Queensland) Health.

About the role:

Reporting to the Asset Accountant this role will assist with the delivery of asset accounting functions for Central Queensland (CQ) Health.

About you:

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to review and establish alternate solutions as required.
  • Demonstrated ability or the ability to rapidly acquire sound knowledge of relevant public sector finance legislation, policies, procedures and practices that relate to asset management and control of assets within a large public sector organisation.
  • High standard of communication, negotiation, problem solving and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation, and with other internal and external clients.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $9,800 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $47.18 - $51.98 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
