Senior Operations Centre Supervisor

The Senior Operations Centre Supervisor (SOCS) is a key operational role within the OpCen, reporting to the Director, Operations Centre. The role is responsible for the supervision and day to day management of all functions and work units located within the Centre to ensure the provision of efficient frontline operational service delivery.
The role provides support to the Director, Operations Centre in implementing reforms and service improvement initiatives and contributes to the overall future direction of QAS service delivery. The SOCS will ensure that high quality, timely and appropriate pre-hospital care and transport services are provided to the Queensland community and will actively contribute to the achievement of QAS business objectives and key performance indicators determined by the Commissioner.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Proven extensive knowledge of the critical information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and systems that support a contemporary emergency Operations Centre, with the ability to rapidly solve problems and manage complex issues that may affect the integrity and performance of the Operations Centres.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy and business continuity arrangements applicable to an Operations Centre and the proven ability to develop and implement effective business continuity plans, procedures and governance processes.
• Extensive knowledge of the holistic service delivery model of the Operations Centre, including critical work units located within the Centre and their functions, to ensure effective operational service delivery.
• Demonstrated high-level leadership and human resource management skills, including experience in performance management and development processes and the ability to lead and inspire large, diverse, professional teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources.
• Proven commitment to continuing professional development by completing all courses required for achieving and maintaining a credentialed level of SOCS practice, including Certificate of Practice accreditation and re-certification processes.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, to successfully manage client/stakeholder engagement.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• Applicants must have a minimum of a Certificate III in Ambulance Communications - Call Taking and a Certificate IV in Ambulance Communications - Dispatch; or equivalent qualifications, as determined by the Commissioner, QAS.
• Applicants must be current in all mandatories and have a current Certificate of Practice.
• Completion of an appropriate management/supervisory training course and knowledge of quality assurance frameworks will be highly regarded.
• Position will require participation in shift work (including weekends and public holidays), on-call duties and undertake overtime.
• The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required.
