About your opportunity:

The Senior Medical Officer provides high quality primary care services at the Local General practice, Hughenden Doctors Surgery, working as a salaried medical officer for the HHS with allocated time at the surgery. You will be an integral provider of General Practice services.

Hughenden is located on the Flinders Highway, 376 kilometres west of Townsville, on the country of the Yirandhali people.  The geography is volcanic basalt mountains separating black soil plains, rich with dinosaur fossils.  There are five national parks close by.  The main industry is farming, largely cattle and sheep grazing.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $187,569 to $274,678 p.a. (L13 - L27)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Additional benefits: Motor Vehicle Allowance, Professional Development Allowance and Inaccessbility Incentive Allowance *category 2.
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Role Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualification and registration or membership with appropriate regisration authority or association.
  • All applicants must be awarded SoCP.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including NDIS Screening.
