About the role:
This position is based in Brisbane CBD and flexible work arrangements can be considered upon application, including working remotely at a regional QBCC office subject to availability. Some intrastate travel may be required as part of this role.
In this role you will play a crucial part in providing technical advice to staff of the Internal Review Unit, conducting independent reviews of certain administrative decisions made by various operational areas and business units within QBCC, communicating review outcomes to parties affected by the reviewed decision and maintaining positive working relationships with customers and staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership and mentoring to the Commission to ensure correct interpretation and application of the NCC, Australian Standards and QBCC policies and procedures.
- Delivering high‑quality technical advice, managing complex review cases, and preparing reports, evidence and statements for administrative reviews and QCAT matters.
- Applying relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks while identifying opportunities to improve decision‑making processes, policies and systems.
- Providing professional, customer‑focused service to internal staff and external stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications
- At minimum a builder low rise licence (builder medium rise or builder open preferred).
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence – (Class C - Motor Vehicle)
