It operates within the Environment and Heritage Policy and Programs (EHPP) Division, which develops strategies, policies, and legislation to support the Government's environmental priorities. Both OGBRWH and EHPP are part of the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI).
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and evaluating policy initiatives, conducting research, and delivering high-level advice to senior leaders, including the Director-General, Minister, and Cabinet. You will develop a range of professional products, such as discussion papers, consultation strategies, reports, and briefings, while working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, government agencies, scientists, industry, and community groups. Your role will also involve fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from bullying, discrimination, and harassment. This
