About the role

As the Principal Business Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of critical transformation projects in the Queensland Public Trustee (QPT). Working closely with stakeholders, you will contribute to key projects such as the evolution of customer information and relationship management systems, web portal expansion, fees and charges reform and the integration of artificial intelligence solutions.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the identification, analysis, and documentation of current-state and future-state business processes, recommending improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including management, subject matter experts and delivery teams to ensure business needs are understood, documented and translated into actionable outcomes.
  • Develop user stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to support project delivery and decision-making.
  • Foster conversations, challenge assumptions and explore business problems from multiple perspectives to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Develop a suite of business process documentation to support ongoing transformation.

About you

You are an experienced business analyst with a passion for delivering solutions in complex, multi-program environments. You excel at turning business challenges into opportunities for improvement and have a strong understanding of business analysis techniques and methodologies.

The following attributes are essential to your success in this role:

  • Significant experience in business analysis, including recent experience as a Principal Business Analyst.
  • Advanced knowledge of business analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools aligned with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
  • Expertise in leading the analysis of large, complex initiatives, including defining current (as-is) and future (to-be) states, developing business cases, and balancing strategic objectives with immediate needs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to lead workshops, present to senior executives, and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience working within a product delivery model, supporting incremental delivery across multiple releases.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Planner, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or similar, and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to adapt strategies and tactics to respond to changing priorities.

While not mandatory, IIBA certification (e.g., CCBA, CBAP) and experience in change management initiatives will be highly regarded.
