Senior Project Officer (Indigenous Identified)

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to how First Nations & Native Title matters are considered in protected area & wildlife authorities. This is a new position within the Permissions Management & Ecotourism team & forms part of departmental initiatives in better recognising, respecting, the aspirations, & interests of First Nations people in decision making.

The Senior Project Officer will develop & contribute to the development and implementation of policy & procedural documents to support the inclusion of Native Title rights and interests in the assessment of activities conducted on Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) managed areas, including jointly managed areas across the State, and as part of wildlife assessments. These functions will assist the team in meeting the requirements of the Commonwealth and State Native Title and cultural heritage legislation.

•    Displays personal drive and integrity - Takes personal responsibility for accurate completion of work and seeks guidance when required. 
•    Communicates with influence - Demonstrates communication and liaison skills, including the ability to provide timely written and verbal advice and to liaise with internal and external contacts. 
•    Demonstrate how you can support our commitment to workplace safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
