The CQPHU is responsible for maintaining preventative population health strategies across the Central Queensland and Central West regions. About the role:
- Coordinate, implement, and evaluate culturally appropriate public health interventions to prevent illness.
- Provide vital frontline support and response for communicable disease control within Indigenous communities.
- Deliver Chief Health Officer Directives and share critical health information to protect community safety.
- Develop collaborative partnerships with government departments, NGOs, and community groups.
- Advise on the creation of culturally sensitive education and motivational resources.
- Participate in research and evaluation to build the evidence base for immunisation and health promotion.
- Support outbreak and incident responses as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.
About you:
- You hold a tertiary degree qualification in Public Health or an equivalent field.
- You identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, which is a genuine occupational requirement for this role.
- You possess sound knowledge of public health priorities, specifically communicable disease and immunisation.
- You have a demonstrated ability to apply primary health care and health promotion principles.
- You can work cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary team to implement and report on health programs.
- You are a skilled communicator with the ability to build rapport and be accepted by Indigenous communities.
- You have the skills to collect and interpret information to promote evidence-based interventions.
- You may have highly regarded experience in immunisation or health promotion programs.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $43.68 - $58.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
