The Mackay Base Hospital Medical Workforce team are seeking applications for Junior House Officers or Senior House Officers to join their team on a Temporary Full-Time basis (76 hrs p.f.).

Your opportunity

To participate in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to hospital clients.  The appointment will be to Mackay Hospital and Health Service for the provision of services to the Mackay Base Hospital.  However, at some future time, the appointee's clinical duties may be extended to  other health care facilities within the Health Service.

  • Junior House Officer (JHO) is a medical practitioner in the first year of service after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner.
  • Senior House Officer (SHO) is a medical practitioner in the second or subsequent years of practical experience after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner and who has not been appointed to a Principal House Officer or Registrar.

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
