Cleveland Youth Detention Health Services (CYDHS) is a primary health care service, supplemented with GP's and other specialist services.
CYDHS is part of the Women's and Children's Service Group within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and located in the suburb of Belgian Gardens, approximately 10km from the Townsville University Hospital.

- Base salary range:$56.08 - $60.05 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and driven Clinical Nurse to join our dedicated Health Services Team. With a mix of shift lengths up to 12-hours in duration, across all days and nights of the week, this role offers a great work life balance opportunity for a condensed working week.
Our vision is to provide excellent healthcare to a vulnerable group of young people who are often disengaged with health services in the wider community.
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for delivering comprehensive, professional quality nursing services within a primary health model of care in a youth detention setting.
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse is to deliver timely holistic client care according to scope of practice, within a primary health care model in a detention health setting as prescribed by policy, clinical standards, clinical guidelines and protocols, workplace instructions and the Youth Justice Act 1992.
Responsibilities can include coordinating and delivering nurse-led clinics, health promotion activities, liaising with interdisciplinary teams, coordinating care, health assessments and screening, and dispersing prescription and non-prescription medications, chronic disease care, responding to emergencies and working within a multidisciplinary team to provide equitable and safe care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position and registration with AHPRA.
- Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include working 8hr and 12hr shifts across a 24/7 roster.
