Our Purpose:

Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.

The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working in HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?

Benefits for Joining HIQ:

  • Attractive and competitive salary and generous employer superannuation contributions and leave loading.
  • Flexible working arrangements along with a supportive and friendly work environment.
  • Corporate discounts and employee wellness programs.
  • Countless opportunities to learn and ongoing professional development.
  • Committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees.
  • You will contribute to making a difference in the lives of Queenslanders.

About the role

As the Director, Infrastructure Planning and Delivery, you will provide strategic leadership and support on the Logan Hospital Expansion Stage 2 project which is part of the Hospital Rescue Plan and is currently under construction.

The Logan Hospital Expansion Project Stage 2 (LHEX 2) has a budget of $875M and will deliver a New Clinical Services Building that will include new operating theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories, endoscopy suites, Central Sterilisation Services Department (CSSD), recovery and day surgery beds and an additional 112 inpatient beds. The project also delivers a new main entry, back of house and support services, office/administration, and cold shell for retail and kitchen.

As Director, you will be providing support to the Project Director and manage the Project Officer.  You will provide leadership to the multidisciplinary project team (Project Manager, Principal's Representative, Quantity Surveyors etc), providing clear direction in navigating through complex/substantial project risks to drive quality infrastructure outcomes in partnership with Hospital and Health Services. You will also manage and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and produce high quality and accurate project reports

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering medium to large scale complex projects within a health infrastructure service delivery environment or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a high performing team while ensuring quality human and financial resources practices are adhered to.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiations skills at a senior level, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other industry partners to achieve required outcomes.
