About us:

Emerald Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Emerald and Central Highlands region. Our vision for Emerald Hospital is to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.

About the role:

  • Manage an allocated workload to deliver high level nutrition and dietetic clinical services in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, utilising a high degree of independence within the work unit, including application at an area and state-wide level, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
  • Apply independent professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Identify, monitor, and report on clinical practices and outcomes within clinical area and actively participate in initiating, developing, implementing, and evaluating quality and service improvement activities, clinical research, education, and training activities, to continually improve patient/client care and services. This includes leadership of allocated portfolios.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with patients/ clients and within a multidisciplinary team by liaising with other health professionals, food service staff, support staff, supervisors, students, and external agencies, as required, and contribute positively within a team environment.

About you:

  • The successful applicant must hold a tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognised tertiary institution providing eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia and Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status. APD status is required for primary supervisors of dietetic students.
  • The successful applicant must participate in and ensure compliance with credentialing and defining scope of clinical practice processes for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $57,974 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
