Our department supports a wide range of specialties including obstetrics, high dependency care, and general surgery. About the role:

• Provide high-quality clinical anaesthetic services, including general, regional, and obstetric anaesthesia.
• Lead the Anaesthetic Team, Pre-Admission Clinic, and High Dependency Unit with a focus on clinical governance.
• Oversee and mentor unit staff, including GP Anaesthetists and junior medical officers.
• Participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call roster to support the Gladstone community.
• Collaborate with Retrieval Services Queensland to organize and support safe patient transfers.
• Contribute to quality assurance programs and regular audits of clinical practice.

About you:

• You hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
• You are registered, or eligible for registration, as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with AHPRA.
• You possess Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent.
• You demonstrate extensive clinical experience across the full range of Anaesthetic and Critical Care services.
• You have a proven ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
• You are a clear and concise communicator, capable of managing complex interpersonal dynamics.
• You are committed to lifelong learning and the education of the next generation of medical professionals.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $557,878 p.a. is comprised of:

• A salary rate between $216,643 - $274,678 p.a.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
