The Principal Business Analyst partners with business and technology teams to identify, analyse, and optimise processes and systems that enable digital transformation. The role focuses on understanding business pain points, translating them into digital requirements, and designing solutions that deliver measurable value across the Queensland Motor Accident Insurance Schemes (MAIS-Q).
Working within an agile, cross-functional environment, this digital leadership role seeks opportunities to facilitate digital transformation by leading analysis and improvement efforts, driving ownership of MAIS-Q digital outcomes, and collaborating with business owners to ensure benefits are realised once solutions are implemented.
Your role
Lead, investigate and analyse business activities to support technology solutions, digital transformation, future thinking and improved processes, functions or solutions. Identify opportunities for MAIS-Q transformation or uplift, leading initiatives to successful outcomes and realised benefits.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, lead cross functional teams, build team cohesiveness, plan and set priorities, participate in innovation, support organisational change and enable business improvements by driving the MAIS-Q digital uplift to achieve strategic goals.
- Communicate and collaborate across MAIS-Q in a consultancy role. Utilise appropriate strategies to gather business requirements, analyse issues, establish metrics, investigate and resolve problems. Develop clear and concise requirements, test strategies, and documentation, including risk assessments, benefit strategies and defined outcomes to deliver quality solutions.
- Manage and maintain positive relationships with internal & external stakeholders, collaborate with Business Owners and SMEs, model cross functional teams' leadership, and work collaboratively with the technical team, always facilitating positive, respectful communication.
About you
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong commitment to shared values, and a broad skillset that includes:
- Demonstrated ability in eliciting business requirements, process and workflow analysis and mapping, quality documentation, acceptance criteria, user stories and testing, release preparation and experience in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability in leading digital transformation initiatives, uplifting capability, future thinking and delivering strategic solutions or initiatives through utilisation of Agile methodologies.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Approach negotiations with a strong grasp of the key issues. Understand the desired business-driven objectives and associated strengths and weaknesses
- Strong relationship building in cross functional teams, in a business led model of delivery.
