Your new opportunity
This is your chance to join Queensland Treasury's Fiscal Strategy & Financial Reporting (FSFR) team, a dynamic unit providing expert policy advice on the State's financial position, governance, and fiscal strategy. FSFR supports the State Budget process, delivers complex commercial and accounting advice, and manages the preparation of whole-of-government financial reports and estimates. In this role, you will lead high-impact projects, provide strategic advice, and collaborate with key stakeholders to influence critical investment, borrowing, and financial risk management decisions.
In this role, you will:
• Prepare high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, policies, presentations, and correspondence on state debt, investments, board governance, budget, and fiscal-related matters.
• Support internal and external stakeholders in managing state debt and investments, including developing strategies to achieve the State's fiscal objectives.
• Lead analysis of complex balance sheet and financial management issues to inform decision-making.
• Provide strategic direction in developing whole-of-government policy and guidance material on financial risk management associated with debt and investment.
• Build and manage positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Queensland Treasury Corporation and QIC Limited, to address complex financial and policy issues.
What experience you will bring:
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving expertise in debt, investment, and governance issues.
• Experience in collaboratively preparing and analysing strategic financial and policy advice.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to lead and manage competing work priorities in complex and fast-paced policy environments.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
