Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse in the Mental Health Emergency Department, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health care to consumers presenting in crisis. Working autonomously and in close partnership with the Emergency Department team, you will provide advanced assessment, risk management and care planning while supporting safe, timely and recovery-oriented outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive mental health and risk assessments for consumers presenting to ED
- Developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-based care and safety plans
- Providing expert clinical advice to ED staff and multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Supporting clinical leadership, shift coordination and mentoring of nursing staff
About you:
You're a confident and capable mental health nurse who thrives in complex clinical environments and brings calm, clarity and leadership to challenging situations. You're comfortable working autonomously, while still being deeply collaborative and values-driven.
You will bring:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (NMBA)
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in mental health nursing
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and risk-management skills
- The ability to lead, mentor and support nursing staff in acute settings
- Knowledge of mental health legislation and recovery-oriented practice
