Queensland Government Air forms part of the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Aviation Capability Group (ACG) and provides government aviation services specialising in both rotary and fixed wing operations in support of the QPS and our partner agencies in regular and emergency response operations across Queensland. The Role:

Join our dynamic Aviation Operations team and help support QGAir's front-line aviation services across Queensland. We are looking for an experienced team leader to support the Aviation Operations team, ensuring efficient coordination of aviation services to meet government agency needs. You will play a key role in planning QGAir's fixed-wing services, coordinating flight schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role involves preparing reports and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to foster strong working relationships. Key Accountabilities

Your Key Accountabilities will include:

• Provide operational leadership and direction to the QGAir Operations Coordination Team and Ground Support Officers to deliver aviation services which meet the specific needs of client government agencies.
• Provide quality advice and assist in the coordination of efficient and cost-effective state-wide planning of requests for QGAir fixed wing aviation services ensuring compliance with operations manuals, Safety and Fatigue Management Systems, Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations and other relevant Commonwealth legislation.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of processes and systems to meet the daily operational requirements of the aviation network.
• Coordinate and authorise flight schedules to deliver aviation services through the analysis of available QGAir capabilities, a risk management framework and legislative safety and security requirements.
• Prepare submissions, reports, briefing material and correspondence for senior management.
• Liaise, consult and negotiate with internal clients and external agencies and foster productive working relationships.

What We're Looking For:

Highly desirable:

• Previous experience working in an Operations Coordination role.
• Experience in an emergency services, corporate or private flight organisation is preferred but not essential.
• Dangerous Goods Certification or capacity to obtain.
• Understanding of aircraft weight and balance limitations.
• Understanding of the relationships between aircraft performance, runway characteristics, pilot duty hours and weather conditions.
• Understanding of Fatigue Management Systems and the associated CASA regulations.
• Experience with scheduling and rostering software (e.g. Air Maestro or similar).
