About the School:
Located on Norris Road North Mackay, Fitzgerald is one of six primary schools servicing residential areas of Mt. Pleasant, Northview, Eaglemount Heights and Beaconsfield as well as the more established areas of North Mackay.
Why this Role?
As an Administrative Officer you will contribute to the effective and efficient administrative management of the school by providing relevant and timely administrative support to the Principal and Business Manager. You will work within a fast-paced environment using existing guidelines and procedures to provide basic resolution of problems, consulting the Principal or Business Manager for matters that are more complex or non-routine.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform a variety of day to day administrative and support services that are routine in nature and directed by the Principal or the Business Manager.
- Undertake routine activities including reception (telephone and counter enquiries), arranging appointments, taking enrolment enquiries, correspondence and general administration, maintaining school records, processing incoming and outgoing mail and email.
- Daily student absences and student reporting.
- Proficient in word processing, data base and spreadsheet documents.
- Interpreting departmental and school policies, guidelines and ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
A mandatory requirement of this role is:
The successful applicant will be required to complete Mandatory Training, hold a Blue card, and complete a criminal history check.
About You:
- Display the highest level of confidentially and discretion when handling school enquiries.
- One School experience is preferred but not essential.
