The Principal Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor plays a critical role in providing expert advice and governance support to ensure the business operations
of the Department of Environment,Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) meets its legislative obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
The role focuses on project management,driving governance activities, due diligence arrangements, oversee injury management processes and risk management practices while fostering a proactive safety culture and promoting continuous improvement.There will be a strong focus on developing effective and
efficient health and safety performance measures and building team dynamics.

We're seeking someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong expertise in WHS legislation, systems and risk management.
- Experience delivering WHS solutions in a large, complex organisation
- Ability to leverage digital and AI tools to enhance WHS reporting and process efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing high quality reports and briefings.
- A commitment to equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
- No mandatory qualifications apply. WHS related qualifications are highly regarded.
