Senior Project Officer
Protected Area Investment; PA Strategy & Investment; Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services & Partnerships; Flexible
There are two temporary placements. They will contribute to a dynamic team to deliver projects, activities and tasks associated with the expansion of the protected area system in Queensland. It will co-ordinate and manage a range of projects in relation to protected area expansion programs within the Protected Area Investment Unit, Protected Area Strategy and Investment Branch, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships Division to provide state-wide support to ensure a consistent and high standard approach to protected area expansion.

As the Senior Project Officer, you will be required to:
• Role model Individual Contributor leadership behaviours as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland.
• Knowledge and skills in leading and managing projects and project teams and implementing systems to promote performance management, ethical behaviour and professional development.
• Knowledge of protected area expansion principles, practices, policies and procedures and a sound understanding of contemporary protected area management principles.
• Interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills and the ability to successfully initiate and implement change and continuous improvement in the workplace.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with an ambition to drive results to achieve departmental objectives; and
• Sound communication and reporting skills including liaison, advice and preparation of written reports, contracts, agreements and submissions
