• Undertake purposeful regional engagement identifying and connecting industry with opportunity, focusing on driving the rural economic development agenda.
• Support opportunities for sustainable development, diversification and growth of agriculture systems and associated supply/value chains through the identification of opportunities, issues, solutions.
•Develop and maintain networks of stakeholders involved in agricultural economic development.

About the role 
As our Senior Agribusiness Development Officer, you will: 
•    Engage widely to establish and maintain effective relationships with DPI stakeholders in the region.  
•    Work with industry and across the value chain to identify opportunities for increased performance productivity and efficiency, and improved resilience and sustainability in order to generate greater value for the sector and the economy as a whole.  
•    Utilise and develop networks, including within DPI and other state agencies to deliver a suite of services to help industry and enterprises solve their problems and grow their business and the regional economy.  
•    Identify new agricultural industry development opportunities specific to the region and develop projects and multidisciplinary teams to respond to, and deliver on, these opportunities. 
•    Communicate with influence with external clients and within DPI and other state agencies, in a timely and accurate manner.  
•    Contribute as part of the DPI disaster response to quantify impacts and ensure that agribusinesses quickly recover following a disaster event. 

Essential requirements 
•    Knowledge of various agricultural production systems and ability to apply this knowledge for economic growth. 
•    Apply research and analytical skills to gain information, data and background to support decisions, project outcomes and inform briefing material. 
•    Ability to travel and undertake work remotely.
