About us:
Located in the Aboriginal Community of Woorabinda, 175 km southwest of Rockhampton, the Woorabinda MPHS, provides first line, health care for the people of Woorabinda and surrounding rural population.
The service currently operates across two facilities an eight-bed hospital and community health facility with a four bed Residential Aged Care Unit, and a Community Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Service facility. It also accommodates a six chair Renal Dialysis Unit. Proposal is in place to extend existing hospital facility to accommodate fourteen residential aged care beds to enable current services to operate from the one site.
About the role:
- Provide effective administration support for the Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) including but not limited to human resource, financial, clinical, and administrative information and records, purchasing, supply and asset management functions.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the administration and support services team and assumes specific responsibility for a number of these areas as delegated.
- Carry out general clerical duties including, but not limited to, telephone answering services, filing, word processing, and management of information databases.
- Provide administrative support for the Director of Nursing, Medical Superintendent and visiting specialists, community programs and projects as directed.
- Provide administrative support using effective communication methods (written, verbal and electronic) to ensure a quality service for the team.
About you:
- Demonstrated abilities in the performance of general clerical and administrative duties in support of health service operations.
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in and support service development and quality improvement activities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a team structure with a wide range of staff and members of the public, especially Australian Aboriginal People.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of computer-based spreadsheet, data and word processing and relevant patient information systems, relating to the administration of patient care and clinical records as well as ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $47,763 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $41.38 – $46.10 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
