About the role
As a Senior Procurement and Contract Officer, you'll play a key role in managing end-to-end procurement and contract activities across a diverse portfolio. Our team is fun, collaborative and supportive where we value connection, professional growth and getting great outcomes together.
You'll work closely with stakeholders to deliver genuine and measurable outcomes within government procurement that align with QCS objectives, the Queensland Procurement Policy and directly support delivering safer communities across Queensland.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver assigned work and provide specialist procurement support and advice in alignment with Chief Procurement Officer direction, and review and respond to
performance metrics to continuously improve and optimise procurement outcomes. - Provide timely, professional, and strategic procurement advice to stakeholders and suppliers on procurement processes and practices as they relate to and are affected by legislation and Queensland Government Procurement and QCS policies, procedures, delegations, and guidelines.
- Undertake end to end strategic procurement activities to deliver the procurement outcome for the stakeholder.
- Develop and maintain effective networks and stakeholder relationships including internal stakeholders, public sector bodies, industry, and suppliers.
- Conduct site visits to external suppliers and correctional facilities as necessary, to effectively forge and maintain productive and appropriate relationships that allow swift identification and resolution of any presenting or perceived issues.
- Prepare and/or review performance reports, briefing notes, and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
- Maintain the record management systems including databases, registers, and other procurement systems whilst also contributing to system improvements to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
About you:
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in procurement, contract management, or a related commercial role.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to integrity, accountability, and service excellence.
- Strong working knowledge of procurement frameworks.
