We are looking for a passionate Manager to lead our records and information management function for our business unit, Information and Technology Partners (ITP). The management position is responsible for ensuring ITP meets its obligations under Queensland Government recordkeeping standards.
ITP is hosted by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and delivers information technology and information management services to 7 government agencies. Our purpose is to provide effective and innovative services as a trusted, strategic partner distributing smart, secure and seamless solutions. The opportunity
In this leadership role, you'll drive the development and delivery of modern, compliant, and efficient recordkeeping practices—supporting both digital and physical records. You'll guide a high‑performing team, partner with stakeholders across ITP and partner agencies, and provide expert advice that influences key organisational initiatives.
You will also be responsible to:
- Lead the development and implementation of ITP's records management roadmap, including strategies, policies, and processes aligned to government standards.
- Lead the Records Management team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and continual improvement.
- Deliver reliable and cost‑effective records services, including eDOCS training and support for business areas.
- Provide expert advice to senior management on compliant, effective recordkeeping practices, strategies, risks, and opportunities.
- Build strong partnerships to design fit‑for‑purpose records management solutions across ITP and partner agencies.
- Provide oversight for the resolution of escalations and emerging issues related to strategically important initiatives using influence, relationships, and sound judgement.
- Represent ITP in strategic objectives with partner agencies and external vendors.
- Identify efficiencies that improve performance and ensure consistent service levels.
- Undertake delegated responsibilities for restricted records and disposal processes.
What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience)
- Demonstrated leadership in records management delivering best practice and service.
- Demonstrated experience directly supporting senior leadership and executives on strategic initiatives and operational priorities.
- Experience in developing and providing expert advice on records or information management relevant to a large, complex public sector organisation.
- Professional communication, collaboration and influencing skills to achieve alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
- Presents technical information and risks in plain language, verbally and in written proposals and business cases.
- Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate teams to deliver responsive and reliable services.
