About us:
Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (AODS) aims to reduce the harm from alcohol and other drug use as well as improve the health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, and the community. Our main office is in Rockhampton, with outreach services located in other areas including Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater and Biloela.
About the role:
- The AODS Psychologist provides a high level of specialist clinical psychology practice in the delivery of drug and alcohol health services to clients of the service. The position promotes harm reduction and primary health care principles in engaging target client groups and the broader community.
- Deliver culturally safe best practice AODS clinical services to clients with substance use issues and their families through screening, assessment, intervention, and referral.
- Utilise effective interpersonal and communication skills when liaising within the multidisciplinary team, and with clients and other stakeholders.
- Enhance clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a comprehensive AODS service model that includes prevention, early intervention, health promotion and harm minimisation strategies for clients with drug and alcohol issues and for the general community.
About you:
- Applicants must possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in Psychology and general or provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Upcoming graduates awaiting conferral of qualifications and registration will be considered for this role.
- Post-graduate qualifications in relevant Psychology or addiction courses would be highly regarded, as would PsyBA approved supervisor status.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $43.68 - $58.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
