Your new role:
As the Registered Nurse within the Hepatology Ambulatory Service, you will deliver safe, compassionate and evidence-based care to patients with complex liver conditions, working collaboratively within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to specialist outpatient clinics, integrated care models and research-focused initiatives by:
- Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care across specialist hepatology outpatient services
- Conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised care
- Supporting integrated clinics including Viral Hepatitis, Fatty Liver Disease, Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma surveillance
- Collaborating closely with medical, nursing, allied health and transplant teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Participating in quality improvement, research activities and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Demonstrating professional leadership, reflective practice and accountability in line with NMBA standards
- Supporting education, mentorship and health promotion for patients, families and junior staff
About you:
You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who thrives in a collaborative outpatient environment and is committed to delivering high standards of specialist clinical care. You will bring to this role:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated clinical experience and competence in hepatology or gastroenterology nursing practice
- Strong assessment, clinical decision-making and care planning skills
- Commitment to person-centred care and evidence-based practice
- Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- High level communication skills with the ability to educate and support patients and families
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
- Ability to adapt to change and demonstrate increasing professional autonomy

About us:
The Hepatology Ambulatory Service is committed to providing high quality patient centred care to patients with Liver Disease through specialist outpatient clinics and inpatient services. Medical, nursing and allied health integrated sessions are conducted daily with services also provided to the Secure Unit. It has a significant Viral Hepatitis and Non- Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease caseload and liaises closely with the Liver Transplant Team. The service also provides a research site for clinical trials and research through grant and industry support.
