QPS Internal Audit is a Service Provider to the QPS and the Inspector General Emergency Management (IGEM). As the internal Auditor you will undertake, and assist in, reviews and internal audits or advisory work. You will assist the activities of the Internal Audit Unit in contributing to the achievement of QPS and IGEM strategic objectives. You will assist in monitoring and reporting on Internal Audit recommendations against agreed implementation dates. You will provide business support to the Internal Audit Team, including general administrative support.

QPS Internal Audit is a Service Provider to the QPS and the Inspector General Emergency Management (IGEM). As the internal Auditor you will undertake, and assist in, reviews and internal audits or advisory work. You will assist the activities of the Internal Audit Unit in contributing to the achievement of QPS and IGEM strategic objectives. You will assist in monitoring and reporting on Internal Audit recommendations against agreed implementation dates. You will provide business support to the Internal Audit Team, including general administrative support. You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with officers and staff across the Service impacted by the conduct of Internal Audit activities.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Undertake reviews and internal audits including reviews/audits of compliance, transactions, performance, operations, best value or advisory work.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the Annual Internal Audit Plan, including tracking and reporting on Internal Audit and Queensland Audit Office (QAO) recommendations against agreed implementation dates.
• Provide advice to officers at all levels of the organisation relating to policies, practices and procedures that may impact the Service.
• Undertake research, investigations and project work in relation to performance improvement, capacity and accountability across the Service.
• Provide business support to the Internal Audit Team, including general administrative support.
• Maintain effective working relationships with managers and staff across the Service impacted by the conduct of audit/review activities and officers of the QAO.
Role Requirements
Qualification
The following would be highly regarded:
• Professional membership of a recognised accounting body such as the Certified Practising Accountants Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.
• Certified Internal Auditor or member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (Australia).
Other
• Ability to travel intrastate and hold a current driver's licence.
