About the Team
The Recruitment Services Unit supports the Department of Education's Corporate Classified teaching and School Support cohorts by delivering reliable and high-quality recruitment services. We're a specialist team within the Human Resources Branch, working closely with hiring managers to help them attract and appoint the right people.
Our work is fast-paced, collaborative and service-focused. We partner with hiring managers, school leaders and internal stakeholders to provide clear advice, support compliant processes and positive recruitment experiences. As a team, we value professionalism, accountability, attention to detail and genuine customer service. We take pride in building trust and confidence with hiring managers and HR business partners and supporting them through the end to end recruitment process.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Process criminal history checks accurately and in line with legislative and departmental requirements
- Create engaging, high-quality job advertisements (like this one!) for the SmartJobs website
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process with clear, timely advice
- Provide efficient HR and administrative support across recruitment activities
- Maintain records, databases and filing systems to support compliance and data integrity
- Respond to general HR enquiries and provide routine advice on policies and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement in recruitment processes and service delivery
About You

- Communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbal
- Are organised, reliable and proactive in your approach
- Are comfortable working with systems, data and administrative processes
- Can manage competing priorities in a busy, high-volume environment
- Enjoy supporting stakeholders in a professional and respectful way
- Work well in a team and are happy to support shared priorities
