About the role
In this senior leadership role, you will:
• Provide expert, specialist and independent legal advice to the Minister, Director-General and senior executives.
• Lead a multidisciplinary legal team delivering high-quality, timely and risk informed legal services.
• Oversee complex matters spanning commercial, property, administrative, employment and litigation law.
• Develop legal strategies that reduce departmental risk and strengthen governance.
• Manage engagement with Crown Law and external providers to ensure coordinated, consistent service delivery.
• Strengthen legal frameworks and implement improved systems and processes across the in-house legal function.
• Respond rapidly and effectively to urgent and sensitive matters.
• Foster a respectful, inclusive and high-performing workplace.
