We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to Inpatient Unit 3FE Surgical Ward, Nambour General Hospital.

The Clinical Nurse role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care, at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Nurse (CN) is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. The role includes responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

Inpatient Unit 3FE has a 24-bed capacity for General Surgical, Urology, Gynaecology & Orthopaedic patients. The surgical IPU services the Sunshine Coast Health Service District.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
• Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 6, Band 1 and the Queensland Public Service values.
• Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
• Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

Remuneration value up to $92 954 p.a, comprising salary rates $56.08 - $60.05 p.h., (part time, 52 hrs p.f.), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NG6 (1)).
