About the role
This role is responsible for engaging with management and staff to embed a contemporary and effective risk management program, with accountability for overseeing and providing objective advice for the assessment, identification, and mitigation of risk across the organisation.
Managing the integration and use of risk tools and processes with other governance systems will be essential to the overall success of the risk program, as will the application of risk management to monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls and mitigate fraud and corruption risk.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in leading and managing the development and implementation of good governance practices and processes in a large public sector organisation, particularly in relation to risk management.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to consider relevant and complex evidence in the coordination and preparation of appropriate risk responses and implementation plans.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to initiate and drive continuous improvement.
- Commitment and success in planning, implementing, reviewing, and managing changes of varying complexity and scope within a large complex organisation.
- Advanced negotiation, consultation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and promote understanding of complex issues, and confidently represent the service at meetings and forums.
