Senior Planner
Industry and Infrastructure Development; Coordinator General; Flexible. Brisbane or Townsville only
As a Senior Planner you will contribute as part of the impactful and connected Planning Services team in the Office of the Coordinator-General (OCG) and facilitate a diverse range of large-scale industrial projects in traditional and emerging industry sectors in State Development Area (SDAs) across Queensland. In this role, you will be a member of the team responsible for the implementation of statutory processes under Part 6 of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 (SDPWO Act) and provide expert advice on a range of industrial land use and infrastructure planning matters in SDAs. You will also be part of strategic initiatives, including a comprehensive regulatory improvement program.

• Provide specialist development assessment advice across all stages of the assessment process in SDAs under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971
• Undertake, and lead at times, research, analysis and interpretation of complex land use planning and policy issues relating to significant industrial development and infrastructure planning
• Collaborate, communicate and build productive relationships with stakeholders, including state agencies, councils, infrastructure providers, industry proponents, and the community, and represent the Department in meetings and forums as required
• Contribute to project delivery through leading and implementing effective administrative and statutory processes, and proactively contributing to business improvement initiatives
• Assist in the preparation and management of projects and contracts, including the procurement and oversight of technical consultants undertaking major economic, engineering, environmental and planning studies
• Demonstrate commitment to the Department's corporate values of strong customer service, teamwork, open communication, leadership and innovation.
