Role details
The Nursing Services and Productivity at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Nursing (Workforce and Informatics) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Assistant Director of Nursing role is to provide contemporary strategic, operational, and professional nursing leadership and management support to the wider team and for the following:
- Nursing/Midwifery Workforce Planning.
- Reporting and analytics of relevant Nursing/Midwifery workforce metrics.
- Agency Nursing/Midwifery engagement.
- Yearly AHPRA registration renewal reporting.
- Credentialing and Defining Scope of Clinical Practice.
- Graduate recruitment and associated reporting.
- Nursing/Midwifery Recruitment support.
- Make use of relevant benchmarking and networking opportunities.
- Professional issues as directed by the Executive Director Nursing/Midwifery.
- The role works collaboratively and supports the Health Service priorities and the strategic direction and vision for the Nursing/Midwifery profession.
About the Team
The Nursing/Midwifery Resources Team supports organisational and business strategy with a specific focus on the Nursing and Midwifery workforce. There is a connection with various stakeholders to bring about the planning of Nursing and Midwifery workforce to meet the needs of the patient, the staff, and the organisation. The unit also aids in rostering, HR and payroll support to nurses/midwives, Managers, Directors, Executive leaders, and other key stakeholders utilising many different IT systems.
The outcome is to enhance nursing/midwifery productivity and efficiency. This is achieved by identifying, communicating, and applying nursing wisdom and experience to information topics to ensure the delivery of safe patient care.
