You will lead and mentor the Capital Assets and Facilities Management Group capital works team in delivering a range of capital programs and projects including new, replacements and upgrade works.
In addition, you will consult and negotiate with key senior management to contribute to the development of the Queensland Police Service capital program delivery framework.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Lead and mentor a team to deliver a range of capital works projects.
- Deliver projects within agreed timeframes and QPS standards, ensuring the cost and quality of projects from inception to hand over are achieved.
- Drive the procurement processes, in partnership with service providers and the engagement of various consultants including design teams, building contractors, to ensure deliverables are according to project briefs and comply with legislation and standards.
- Develop and maintain operational policy, systems and procedures applicable to the CAFMG capital delivery framework.
- Prepare high level correspondence and briefing material providing sound recommendations relating to a range of CAFMG matters.
- Implement appropriate governance and risk frameworks, reporting and performance measures to track, monitor and report on identified project milestones.
- Oversee budget management and reporting for the capital works program, to ensure program deliverables are achieved.
- Provide expert advice to partner agencies and internal and external stakeholders.

Qualification
- Program and/or project management qualifications or experience is highly desirable
