About us:
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) / Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS) Renal Services are part of the Division of Medicine. Catchment area for the CQ Health Renal Service is from Longreach in the west, Yamba to the north, Gladstone to the south, Yeppoon to the east and all local areas of Rockhampton. This service includes:
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) service
- Chronic and Acute Haemodialysis
- Inpatient - acute admission care
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Renal Transplant - Pre and post follow up care
- Outpatient Clinics including vascular access
- Satellite Dialysis Services - Rockhampton, Gladstone, Capricorn Coast, Woorabinda and Longreach
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Chronic Kidney Disease within the CQ Health Renal Services Registered Nurse providing expert clinical leadership, management and governance relevant to the speciality of renal nursing. The CNC operates with a high level of autonomy, delivering both direct and indirect care while collaborating with the Assistant Nursing Director – Nurse Practitioner, Renal Nurses CQ and CW HHS, Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educator, and multidisciplinary teams, to uphold exemplary nursing standards and ensure safe, high-quality care.
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will support decision-making, leads operational initiatives, promotes clinical governance, and fosters a learning-focused workplace culture that supports education, research, and workforce development.
About you:
- The successful applicant will hold a tertiary degree qualification such as a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
- Current nursing registration though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is also a requirement for this position.
- While not mandatory, post graduate qualifications in Renal Nursing would be well regarded.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $169,138 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $68.86 - $74.76 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
